Create multiple scoring opportunities early in your possession by using a simple "toss back" to get your trail player moving down hill against a transitioning defense. The Dribble Option is the third option within our 30 Series transition offense. Note: This offense can be ran on either side of the court. 30 Series is a secondary break offense that is at it's best when flowing from transition before the defense gets set. If ran at full speed, with proper spacing and effective screens this offense will create high percentage shots for your team. There are four differnet ways to start the offense and it's all based on reads. We want our young ladies to use different options to keep the defense off balance. I first saw this presented by Dave Severns of the Los Angeles Clippers at the Northern Arizona University Coaches Clinic. This is known as the Pistol or Hurry Up Offense in NBA circles. The Houston Rockets were down 5 with 24.4 seconds left in game 1 against the Golden State Warriors. They needed at least two scores to tie the game so they needed to get a quick basket and then foul to extend the game. This play worked very well against the Warriors strategy of switching all screens. James Harden (2) started the play as a decoy, setting the second screen for Eric Gordon (3). The Warriors switched off of Harden on the screen to take away an open three from Gordon. Harden then flashed to the ball to receive the pass from 5 and quickly attack the basket.
